Keyser beats Frankfort 74-29
KEYSER, W.Va. — Keyser’s defense smothered Frankfort with its speed and quickness Tuesday evening in an easy win for the Golden Tornado.
Keyser limited the Falcons to four points in the first quarter, and six in both the third and fourth periods. Frankfort got almost half of its final total in a 13-point second quarter. Keyser, on the other hand, got 14 points in the first and had 39 by halftime. The Tornado carried a 32-point lead into the final quarter.
Matt Wilmer had a game-high 17 points for Keyser, and Preston Hartman ended the evening with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Maverick Nelson and Jeremy Green both had seven rebounds, with Nelson scoring 12 points, and Green getting nine. Wes Washington scored only two points, but contributed with eight assists and four steals.
Brian Bills scored seven points to lead Frankfort.
Peyton Hartman scored 10 points in Keyser’s 39-33 win over the junior varsity game. Austin Cook scored seven for Frankfort.
Keyser (2-1) plays University Monday in the University Holiday Tournament. Frankfort (1-3) begins play in the Hampshire Tournament Monday.
