Keyser is defeated by Hampshire, 70-58

KEYSER, W.Va. — Robbie Miller went for 26 points including four threes as No. 5 Hampshire upset No. 4 Keyser Thursday night at Keyser in Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference play.

Will Hughes also had a strong game inside with 15 points and 13 rebounds for Hampshire and J.P. Binotto had a team-high eight assists as well as seven rebounds and eight points. Josh Moreland also got into double figures for the Trojans with 13 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the foul line.

Keyser was led by Preston Hartman’s 18 points and 11 rebounds. Matt Wilmer added 14 and Jeremy Green had eight rebounds to go with his seven points.

Hampshire led at the end of each period with a 12-11 lead after one quarter then surging for 23 points in the second to take a 35-24 edge into halftime.

Keyser won the JV game 65-53. R.C. Pratt led Keyser with 22 points. Brian Wesson had 17 for Hampshire.

Hampshire (5-5, 4-2 AMAC) hopes to extend its three- game win streak Saturday when it hosts Northern. Keyser (7-5, 5-4) looks to turn things around Tuesday hosting Mountain Ridge.
