ACCIDENT, Md. - Keyser used an 11-0 opening run to distance itself from host Northern Garrett and never looked back, limiting the Huskies to just 38 points while scoring 54 itself to notch its’ 11th win of the season last night in local high school hoops action.
Senior guard Jeremy Green notched double-double figures for the Golden Tornado, scoring a game-high 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Backcourt mate Matt Wilmer added 10 tallies and came away with four steals for KHS, and Wes Washington dished out five assists and scored six points as the Keyser guards dominated the Huskies.
Keyser led 15-9 after a period, and extended that margin to an insurmountable 37-18 advantage at the half.
Preston Hartman added eight points for the Golden Tornado.
Thomas Holtshneider led Nothern with 11 points, while Ed Herpel scored eight.
Keyser improves to 11-6 and will take it’s 3-game win streak into action Friday at Tornado Alley against Berkeley Springs in a triple-header.
The Tornado freshman will tip off the action at 4:15 pm.
Keyser took the jayvee matchup as well, 58-26.
The 14-1 jayvee were led by RC Pratt’s 12 point, three-steal effort, while Langston Hines and Kurt Amtower both chipped in eight points each - the latter grabbing four loose caroms and the former coming away with six thefts
